| Novus Sealing Middle East inspects leakage at ENOC |
|
|
Novus Sealing Middle
East has been working closely with ENOC (Emirates National Oil Company)
based in Jebel Ali, near Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Novus was called to the site by the engineering team to inspect a leakage
in a new heat exchanger.
|
| Sharon Darbyshire, Commercial Director (Middle East & North
Africa), commented:“Novus rose to the challenge of providing
a high quality one-piece gasket that was to be fitted to the back face
of a heat exchanger tube sheet without having to completely withdraw
the tube bundle, which solved the current leakage problem.” |
| Chris Darbyshire, Works Director, was responsible
for designing a test rig that simulated the tube sheet flange arrangement. |
| Sharon and Chris went on site to carry out the installation
of the new gasket where the engineering team had prepared the exchanger
by extracting the bundle by approximately 150mm. The engineers looked
on with disbelief as a correctly dimensioned Novus camprofile gasket
was manipulated into place, complete with the graphite layers intact. |
| This was carried out without causing any damage to
the graphite and all within a three minute timescale, a first for Novus
Sealing Middle East, and a first for the Group. Although Novus Sealing
UK has had experiences with this procedure in the past, never has it
been performed with the graphite layers intact. |
